Ever find yourself saying “I can't get enough reps of my submissions” or "I'm afraid of getting injured by my training partners?"
Ten years ago I was in the same boat as you. I knew that if I could just find a way to do more reps of my submissions and other grappling moves, I could be a better grappler…
…but I couldn’t make that happen. In class, I couldn’t get anybody to let me do 100, 50 or even 25 techniques on them, over & over, so I could build the “muscle memory” necessary to use the grappling moves when I needed them.
I tried the available grappling dummies and mma training dummies on the market, but they were made only for striking & takedowns, not submissions. I’m sure you’ve seen them… straight, stiff legs, arms and body. At best, you can only do a rear choke and an arm bar… but forget about kimura locks, americanas, omo platas, leg locks, etc.
I also tried the only jiu jitsu dummy on the market at the time… but the limbs on that one just “flopped” to the floor. It didn’t hold its position at all.
What I wanted was a grappling dummy that would allow me to train the different positions, like guard, inside the guard, mount, north south, side control, “turtle” and sprawl position. And the holds & submission from those positions. I knew there had to be a solution that would let me train what I wanted to, when I wanted to, allowing me to become the grappler I knew I could be.
